California State Law says - You Must Call Before You Dig. It's easy, it's fast,
it's available on-line (or by dialing 8-1-1) and most of all, it's FREE.
If you're going to be digging at your house or at a single address you can enter your
information by clicking

Once you have entered your information, the utility companies in your area will come
out and mark their lines within the next two (2) full working days (not including the date of notification).
You then can avoid damaging those lines by keeping a
safe distance away from their markings.
